Waanzee

Exciting rock spectacle with an idealistic message

Rosa Ensemble

Waanzee is a two-headed rock monster. Pulsating grooves and ecstatic vocals whip the audience into a frenzy but there is a message. Namely, to create a better and sustainable world with freedom, equality, and protection of the weak. The audience cheer on the idealistic messages that are touted by frontman Rex. However, as the concert progresses, the band transforms into a ‘dark crusader’. The tone is increasingly grim, dark, and radical. Is true change even possible without some form of violence? Our utopia is actually there for the taking but do we offer Rex that chance? At what price?

“A composers’ collective, brimming with genre astronauts. From jazz to art music in the vein of Frank Zappa and Captain Beefheart. Educated musicians who think like punk rockers.” – Tobias Kokkelmans (dramaturgy O.)

“Rosa’s music is playful, thrilling, theatrical, and adventurous whereas it can also be strange, unruly, and mysterious. ”

Locatie
