Wanted: O. Talent Scouts

Are you one of O.’s fans? Do you believe, as we do, that it is crucial for the next generation of makers in the field of opera to be given every opportunity to create exciting new work, take risks, and build a career? And, like us, do you find it unconscionable that this opportunity is not provided as a matter of course? If so, why not become an O. Talent Scout!

We are looking for one hundred O. Talent Scouts who are eager to help the festival, through an (annual) donation, to retain young talent. You can become an O. Talent Scout from €100 upward. Donors will receive an exclusive invitation for two persons for De Avond van de Belofte as well as attractive additional benefits, which include having first choice when tickets go on sale.

Your financial contribution helps O. support these makers as they grow and develop. How are we making this happen?

O. Lab
We give makers the chance to present their works in progress and prototype performances to audiences at O. Lab and to work on a research question in WORM, a creative space, for one day.

Open calls & assignments
We issue open calls, engage in conversations with makers, and select new work. We also commission makers to create exceptional (location) projects and are involving talented performers in ongoing series, such as First Dates.

Matchmaker
We connect makers to allied festivals and venues, producers, and fellow makers via our Dutch and international networks.

Coaching & maker development
Each year, we mentor several makers as they progress along different pathways. As the (co-) producers, we are involved in developing new work and safeguarding the artistic quality of a grant application.

As an O. Talent Scout, you will help make it possible for the festival to follow through on all these activities.

De Avond van de Belofte (The Evening of the Promise) is a sneak preview of O. 2024, for donors only. Join us on this festive night on Tuesday 26 March (location TBA) where you will meet young talent, get unique insights into the talent development programme, and get an exclusive sneak peek at the programme of O. 2024.
