O. Lab: Storm
Theatrical pitch of a song cycle in the making
Stichting Nanoek
William the Taciturn, Admiral Michiel de Ruyter and Governor-General J.P. Coen. The images of these historic figures are engraved in the national memory of the Netherlands. However, which heroes did not get their own pedestal? Who made history and who has been left out?
Witness the very first theatrical pitch of Storm, a song cycle in the making, about forgotten women from Dutch history. The central question is, has the time come for a new Iconoclastic Fury? Experience a taster of the musical scenes from the performance and get to know some of the special figures that the history books ignored.
“O. is very happy to offer Anouk Beugels and her group of promising musical innovators a launch pad as well as a curious audience.” – Tobias Kokkelmans (dramaturgy O.)
About O. Lab
Tomorrow’s makers will work in WORM for seven days and the doors of the workshop will be wide open. Go inside and give free rein to your imagination. After all, nothing is ready-made; everything is a work in progress. O. Lab is a large creative space where makers can focus on current topics and new work is created. Or not, as the case may be, which is equally possible and acceptable in a lab. As long as O. Lab is operational, you will be the first to share the ideas and findings of the makers. Take a seat on the front row and watch the unfolding of the creation process!
