La Loba

Opera duet as a manifesto for fluidity

Hélène Vrijdag & Timo Tembuyser

La Loba is a primal opera duet; a dialogue for two high singing voices. A score for voice and light, a space in which two bodies search for a new aria somewhere between vibrato and crying. A manifesto for the fluidity of masculinity and femininity, human and animal, tenor and soprano. La Loba is a composition sung over bones that were once lost, then found again and that are now brought back to life by a song that howls like a wolf.

“A strong dialogue in sound and facial expressions; a heart-stirring duet without words.”

Locatie
