BALLADE VAN BODIE
Philosophical Western performance containing by country songs
KASSETT
Sprinkled with country songs, the philosophical country & western performance, BALLADE VAN BODIE (BODIE’S BALLAD) tells the story of the city of Bodie. A booming metropole in 1880 but now a deserted ghost town where silence speaks louder than anywhere else. Rosa May, Madam Moustache, Billy O’Hara and Martin Gianettoni – four historic figures connected with Bodie – are trying to play their part amid a teeming multitude of forlorn souls. Based on their stories, KASSETT raises the question whether people fare better as herd animals or as lonesome cowboys. Whaddaya here for?
“The idiosyncratic and dauntless combination of genres and KASSETT’s truly entertaining philosophic music theatre add new colour to O.’s palette.” – Tobias Kokkelmans (dramaturgy O.)
