The Wild Stage

Exciting performance that stirs and fuels the imagination

Aïda Gabriëls, oester en Muziektheater Transparant (BE)

Inspired by Kurt Weill & Bertolt Brecht’s dream city Mahagonny, oester and Muziektheater Transparant delve deep into the very human need for escapism. Casper Clausen, Timo Tembuyser, Baroque Orchestration X’s Jon Birdsong and Pieter Theuns, Adriaan De Roover, Matteo Sedda, Rob Hayden and Mustav Ahmeti improvise and experiment with this urge to escape as they cocreate a stream of soundscapes and images. The Wild Stage continues to navigate between rock, baroque, and electronica, between contemporary and classical.

oester aims for a transdisciplinary collaboration as choreography, music, bodies, and the space weave into an entangled tapestry. All musical compositions, visuals, and choreographies have been created together with the performers.

“The Wild Stage is a seductive dance/music theatre performance with wonderful songs.” – Guy Coolen, artistic director O.

“Music and sound inspire and stir up the imagination, which causes this organically evolved performance to be just as exciting whenever you close your eyes. […] It chimes and clashes, which causes the mesmerized audience, while looking into a mirror, to experience its own version of an uncontrollable desire for ‘more’.”

Locatie
