Polish Project

Hidden stories about the daily grind of labour

Maria Magdalena Kozłowska (PL)

The Polish Project is a thought-provoking performance that delves into the experiences of migrant Polish workers and the intertwining of physical and artistic labor. Led by Polish artist Maria Magdalena Kozłowska, this multi-episode work combines elements of opera, choreography, and documentary, offering a compelling exploration of identity and work culture.

In a society where work often dominates our lives, The Polish Project sheds light on the realities faced by those whose existence revolves around labor. Despite growing conversations about work-life balance and the need for change, many migrant workers find themselves deeply entrenched in the daily grind. With over 220,000 Polish migrants in the Netherlands, their stories remain largely unseen by the broader community.

Through Kozłowska’s artistic lens, the audience is invited to reconsider their perceptions of labor and productivity. As she navigates her own role as an artist, she challenges viewers to confront their preconceptions and recognize the humanity behind the workers’ toil. Join us as we uncover the hidden narratives of migrant workers and explore the complexities of modern-day labor.

Locatie
