O. Lab: I was old before I was young
In search of solace and self-love for your body
Teddy Shouldn't Smoke (NL)
The Rotterdam collective Teddy Shouldn’t Smoke researches why we don’t treat our bodies with more kindness in, I was old before I was young. We all grow older and one day will have to face the consequences. That is a difficult idea to get our heads around, for dancers in particular as well as for others who work with their bodies. Dancer Marijke de Vos and musician Laura Nygren (Show Pony) take you along as that realisation sinks in and they are trying to find a soothing, caring way to deal with this. Young or old, we all have a body and would do well to love it more.
Research question: How can we handle the vulnerabilities of our own body?
