Nora – een POPconcert
A theatrical, eclectic and feminist pop concert
Daniëlle Deddens (NL)
145 years ago, Nora closed the door behind her for good. Today, she kicks it down hard again. The classic character Nora from Henrik Ibsen’s Een Poppenhuis (A Doll’s House) reclaims the narrative in her theatrical, contemporary and feminist pop concert.
Daniëlle Deddens is an actress, singer and theatre maker. Nora – een POPconcert she created during her residency at Karavaan and Makershuis Alkmaar. She is currently one of the finalists of the Amsterdams Kleinkunst Festival together with the collective Paddy and the Contemporaries. Next year, Daniëlle can be seen in the youth performance De Neehoorn by Bostheaterproducties, directed by Naomi van der Linden and with music by DIEHELEDING.
The new generation in the spotlights
Saturday 25 May, new musical theater makers reveal their work to an audience at the Kaap. At Theater Walhalla and Conny Janssen Danst, among others, a diverse group of makers will gather for a day full of creativity, talent and energy. Some have only just graduated, others are about to leave school, and a few have left school longer ago. One thing they have in common is a bold take on musical theatre. From a rebellious, feminist reinterpretation of a classic play to a relentless crash test of traditional musical, the variety is wide. All of these creators are ready to shatter the status quo and redefine the world of music theatre.
