LU OpeRAVE is an innovative opera club experience that challenges the conventions of traditional performance. Inspired by Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor, the production tells the story of LU, a genderfluid person struggling with societal and familial expectations. LU finds refuge in the haunting presence of Lucia and undergoes a journey of discovery, self-acceptance and eventual liberation.

The performance is structured in immersive “capsules” in a pulsating nightclub environment. Loud music, DJ sets and live opera performances flow together to create a theatrical rave where storytelling and high-energy clubbing come together. The audience becomes part of LU’s Odyssey and experiences their transformation firsthand. In contrast to the tragic fate of Lucia di Lammermoor, LU finds redemption in the music of Donna, a powerful figure who encourages them to embrace their own truth.

It is not just an opera, not just a rave – it is a celebration of identity, community and the freedom to be yourself.
