Fledermaus Forever

Wigs, stick-on moustaches and Strauss on repeat

Les Âmes Perdues, Tom Goossens, Mitch Van Landeghem, DESCHONECOMPANIE & Ma’Ma Queen (BE/NL)

The operetta Die Fledermaus is performed on New Year’s Eve every year somewhere in Europe. In Fledermaus Forever, eight actors continue the tradition indefinitely on a single night. Just as the characters want to get to the party in the second act at all costs, these players want to keep playing at all costs. Rowing with the belts they have, they adjust their roles, music and lyrics to get the story played over and over again.

In the urge to keep partying, keep playing there is both something beautiful and something very sad. The work ‘Die Fledermaus’ embodies that urge. In short, the ideal musical play to get one step closer to answering the question: why keep playing, why keep partying?

With special guest: Ma’Ma Queen. A Rotterdam beauty who gives unforgettable performances. She is an artistic drag artist and an unparalleled talent. She is the proud mother of the House of Holographic Hoes. In 2020, she participated in the first season of Drag Race Holland, where she finished third. Her strength, her beauty and more importantly, her sweet personality did not go unnoticed. Ma’MaQueen would rather impact 1 person than entertain 100 and stands for inclusivity, justice and equality with her expressions as a drag artist.

“The best-known operetta turned on its head. Playful, joyful, full of topical themes and a top cast playing all the roles interchangeably. Sublime adaptation and a feast for the eye and ear.” – Guy Coolen, artistic director O.

Locatie
