Ethereal Realms – all fiction is metaphor

Dwaal rond in een elektronische performance geïnspireerd op een feministische sci-fi

Marie Delprat (FR/CH) / Aïda Gabriëls (BE)

Ethereal Realms – all fiction is metaphor is a performance combining electronic music, voice art and 3D landscapes inspired by Ursula K. Le Guin’s feminist science fiction novel The Left Hand of Darkness (1969). The installation production follows Genly Ai’s journey on the planet Gethen and explores themes of sex, gender, otherness and interpersonal communication. Parallel to the original story, Delprat questions her own complex identity.

Wander around and lose yourself in a contrasting sound and landscape, between baroque and electronica, and create your own experience in this modern interpretation of a timeless literary classic that remains relevant today.

‘These two young artists came together thanks to O. through our international exchange project. Now we present their first collaboration. Visually and musically stunning.’ – Guy Coolen, artistic director O

Locatie
