For this special live performance, the Belgian theatre director Benjamin Abel Meirhaeghe and the Icelandic producer/composer Valgeir Sigurdsson have created a unique combination of electronic and contemporary composed music.

In a world filled with turbulence and (white) noise, these artists try to reclaim and reappriciate the art of listening so as to create space for contemplation, silence, and wondrous new compositions. The outcome is a 60-minute song cycle with soundscapes, cocreated in Reykjavik and Antwerp. The Belgian violinist Elisabeth Klinck will accompany the artists.

Under his Winterdagen moniker, composer & producer Mink Steekelenburg creates piano- and electronic music. Next to his releases as Winterdagen, Steekelenburg has been making his name composing music for film, theatre & dance and museums. Over the years, Winterdagen’s DJ sets have shifted from mostly ambient explorations to a more rhythmic approach. Combining forward-thinking club music with emotional synth build-ups, Winterdagen is set on intertwining energy and melancholy.

Call him a Hiphop beatmaker gone rogue. Imhotel roams the fields that connect Downtempo Hiphop, Trip-hop, Bass, IDM, Ambient and Footwork. Eerie soundscapes, synths gone mad and glitchy rhythms welcome you into his world of distorted ambiance.
