All The Pleasures
Sensual hypnotic trip into digital realms
Robin Coops, René van Munster, Chiel Busscher (NL)
All the Pleasures is a concert, installation and album inspired by several songs by 17th-century English composer Henry Purcell, in which themes of night, sensuality and lust are recontextualised through a nocturnal melange of voices, cello and electronics.
The collaboration between multimedia artist-singer Robin Coops and cellist-producer René van Munster began during the 2020 pandemic, inspired by the timelessness of Purcell’s sensual lyrics. They exchanged ideas and sent recordings back and forth. All the Pleasures transcends the boundaries of genre and shows that Purcell’s lyrics belong just as much at home in a 17th-century opera as in a contemporary club setting. The concert is performed in a hypnotic, immersive setting.
The night is now. Welcome to All the Pleasures.
On May 30th and 31st, you can visit the installation for free, there is no performance then. Drift away under the guidance of a hypnotic soundscape inspired by the album All The Pleasures. Feel free to stay as long as you like and take a rest between visits to other performances.
“Already been our guest several times, but always surprising and innovative. One of the most inventive musical theater makers from the Netherlands.” – Guy Coolen, artistic director O.
